It’s been a miserable state of affairs for Democrats in Virginia. Gov. Ralph Northam continues to refuse to resign yet even if he did the man set to replace him was just hit with a sexual assault accusation…again.
Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax was set to be the second black governor of the state if Northam were to step down. But after Meredith Watson came forward with claims of rape, joining initial accuse Vanessa Tyler, Democrats have completed turned from Fairfax.
Fairfax actions were labeled “atrocious” by U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine and stated Fairfax, “can no longer effectively serve the Commonwealth.”
Fairfax has denied both allegations and like Northam has claimed, “I will not resign.”
With both Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring under scrutiny for sporting insensitive blackface, things are looking awfully bad for Virginia’s leaders.
