Democrats have reached a point where they clearly just can’t contain themselves. Piling on to an already crowded presidential race, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar recently went official with her 2020 bid. That makes eight Democrats and counting.
Klobuhar will also be the fifth senator to run and the fourth woman.
“I stand before you as the granddaughter of an iron ore miner, the daughter of a teacher and a newspaperman, the first woman elected to the United States Senate from the state of Minnesota, to announce my candidacy for president of the United States,” Klobuchar said.
Other running Democrats are: Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Hawaii rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney and entrepreneur Andrew Yang.
