In what has to be a record-breaking moment of narcissism, former President Barack Obama managed to refer to himself a whopping 392 times while delivering a speech.
Speaking for the Obama Foundation at a Berlin town hall, the former president uttered 324 versions of the word “I” during the address. He squeezed in another 68 self-references using the words “me,” ”my,” “myself,” and “Obama.”
The statistics come from a report by Grabien which even lists an example where Obama managed to shoehorn himself into a single sentence SIX times.
“One of the challenges that I had when I was a young organizer was I wanted change now and I wanted 100 percent of what I wanted and then I suddenly confront some politician,” Obama said.
Grabien has kept tabs on Obama’s penchant for self-reference, but this speech breaks the prevoious record of 171 references that Obama racked up in 2016.
