Even members of former President Obama’s administration are hard pressed to deny the truth about President Donald Trump’s success.
Steven Rattner, who served the Obama administration as lead adviser to the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry, is predicting that President Trump will win his re-election in 2020.
Stated in a New York Times op-ed, Rattner used several example projection models to discover Trump’s chances. He found that Trump’s odds where incredibly good and that Trump’s work on the economy might be the biggest factor in his re-election.
“The economy invariably ranks among the top issues on the minds of voters in presidential elections,” said Rattner. “At the moment, it appears to offer President Trump a meaningful tailwind.”
Beginning with a model produced by Yale professor Ray Fair that measures the factors of gross domestic product, inflation, and incumbency, Rattner discovered Trump was expected to win with 56% of the popular vote.
Rattner then went on to cite several other studies on the matter.
“It’s worth noting that the Fair model is hardly alone in its forecast,” said Rattner. “Mark Zandi, the chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, has looked at 12 models, and Mr. Trump wins in all of them. Donald Luskin of Trend Macrolytics has reached the same conclusion in his examination of the Electoral College.”
A good sign for the 45th President of the United States.
