Here’s what we know…
A potential COVID-19 vaccine has recently entered human testing after the FDA accepted the application from Inovio Pharmaceuticals.
A report by Tech Crunch states, “Inovio plans to inject its first volunteer test subject with the INO-4800 DNA vaccine candidate it has developed, following promising results from preclinical studies performed on animals that did indicate increased immune response.”
Inovio is backed by “Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as funding from other nonprofits and organizations.” The company has also stated that one million doses will be produced by the end of the year if the trials are successful.
A set of tests delivered to mice showed that they developed antibodies in order to fight against the coronavirus in as little as two weeks. Read the full story here.
